A timer program with a brilliant GUI display design

TimerTrek is a simple timing program where you set a timer and it counts down until it reaches zero. When it reaches zero, it makes a noise. It has four size/display settings.

A great idea for a timer app

TimerTrek gives you a single countdown timer, which isn't anything special in itself, but the graphical layout of the GUI is very special. Even though the development company can only hint at it because of copyright restrictions, the fact is that the GUI looks like a console from the Star Trek universe, which is a pretty awesome idea for a timer app. You can run it in full-screen mode so that it looks like your computer/device is a Star Trek console, or you may run it windowed. They also have a GigaTimer and NanoTimer, which are functions that determine how much of the console (GUI display) is shown rather than simply dictating the size of the GUI itself.

A great tool for Star Trek fans

TimerTrek is a good timer for people who love Star Trek because the GUI display looks eerily like a Star Trek console. The only problem is that there are hundreds of free stop clocks online and even on your device. Plus, you cannot hide the program and have it run at the same time. It may have been worth the money if it had more noise effects, especially if it had the robotic Star Trek voice tell you when your time is up.

PROS

  • Really looks like a Star Trek console
  • Has different colour and size options

CONS

  • Needs more noise effects and more customization options
  • You cannot set it to run and then hide it

Program available in other languages
